"News Set Backdrop mural for Seattle's ABC-TV affiliate KOMO-TV"
(including full bleed area unseen on live camera)
Assignment...
Seattle's KOMO-TV needed a news team backdrop mural that would represent "Seattle" to it's daily viewers throughout the Northwest US.
Solution...
With creative direction from KOMO-TV's art director, photographer Michael Craft and I planned the nine photographic elements and digital image using set dimensions and low-rez comps.
Once we had approval from the client, several mockups were tested from the news set TV camera angles. I then scanned and pieced together a hyper-realistic overview of Seattle from a unique perspective that does not exist in reality but captures Seattle's visual character in a single panoramic image. The final duratrans print was over 24 feet long, in three seperate sections, and was lit from behind.
This image is seen daily by millions of Northwesterners and was featured in the Hollywood motion picture "Life or Something Like it".the movie
